According to DagenNyheter (swedish newspaper) Spotify announces to Wired that they now have 250 000 premium users. This gives them a totoal income of 3.5 million dollar a month. Not bad for a one year old company.

I have had the premium service for a while now (whitout knowing it) since I figured out that a monthly subscription renewal every month. You have to stop the renewal by your self.

This is what I  have to live without:

• No ads
• Mobile music
• Use Spotify on your mobile phone (iPhone, Android and selected Nokia devices).
• Offline mode
• Make your playlists available for those times you don’t have an internet connection.
• Higher sound quality
• Stream music in a higher bitrate, up to 320kbps.
• Travel access
• Go anywhere in the world and listen to your favourite music.

I think it is the advertiing that will be most annoying…

Plex is a excellent media center for Mac OS X. Plex has the ability to install a variety of plugins that are available. From now on even spotify is available as one. You need to have a premium account to use the service. I’ll update this post with a review when I’ve tried it myself.
